Jimi Hendrix Apartment

Fans of classic rock may want to make a pilgrimage to 23 Brook Street, where the legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix lived between 1968 and 1969. While this fact is commemorated with a blue plaque, stating that Jimi and his girlfriend Kathy Etchingham resided in the house, the apartment itself has been integrated into the Handel House Museum which is located next door and is currently used as an exhibition and events space. However, this is appropriate in a way, as Hendrix himself was a fan of the composer, and was aware of the building’s link to Handel when he bought the property.

Liberty

This iconic department store has been open since 1875, selling expensive ornaments and fabrics, although the current building was constructed in the 1920s using timber from two old Navy ships. These days, the

y also sell fashion and furniture, but their signature product is still the 'Liberty Print', which is an Arts & Crafts floral design printed on fabric. While the building has recently been extended, much of the original interior is intact, making for a hugely memorable and unique shopping experience.

Mount Street Gardens

Nestling in the heart of Mayfair, these wonderful gardens are one of central London’s best kept secrets. The gardens contain large trees, which provide plenty of shade on sunny days, and there are plenty of park benches where you can sit down and relax, an oasis of tranquillity in the hustle and bustle of central London.

Savile Row

Savile Row has been the pinnacle of men’s tailoring since the late 18th century, and the street is synonymous with high quality suits and top-drawer craftsmanship. Here, you can get virtually any item of clothing made to measure in pretty much any type of material. The buildings themselves were constructed in the early 1700s when the decision was taken to create the Burlington Estate.

Sotheby’s

Sotheby’s is the oldest and most famous auction house in the world, and has sold many items of great value over the years, including famous works of art, near-priceless antiques, and iconic properties. The building itself is beautiful to behold, with stunning architectural details and an opulent interior.
