You are visiting London, it is raining and you are hungry. But you don't want to use your hard earned cash on something fancy that don't even fill your stomach. Allow me to give you some tips that'll even help you have some money left over for a pint of beer at the pub afterwards. I have divided the tips into three sections, I'm sure you'll find one that fits you:

1: As long as it fills me up I don't care about anything else
Funny thing, that was the same thing my wife told me once, but let's not waste time telling dirty jokes. If you want to eat for less than £2 the easiest thing is to pop into a supermarket and grab yourself a sandwich.

Supermarket sandwiches
A Tesco or Sainsbury's supermarket is never far away in London. And these supermarkets know that millions of lunch hungry englishmen will buy their lunch from them everyday, that means that the sandwiches are quite tasty and good value for money.

2: I want food, but my bum also needs some rest

Oh, you don't wanna spend your vacation in London by eating supermarket food? You want something to sit on as well? Quite the classy type, aren't you?

If you want to sit and eat something you can pop into the Subway chain, their daily special sub sandwich is £1.99. Some of their outlets have chairs for their customers to sit on, other's don. If you really want to sit and have your meal in peace, pop into the pub chain Wetherspoon's. They have a daily offer named Beer & Burger with chips which they sell for £4.49.

3: I won the lottery! I really want to splash out
Did you win the lottery? You got money to burn? Head over to one of Pizza Express' many restaurants. The interior is created in order for you to feel welcome, the pizza (£7-10) is thin just like in Italy. It may not be the place to propose to your loved one, but for a budget sheep like myself it is pretty damn close.
