Often considered the world's best museum of art, fashion and design.
If you're interested in all things style - past and present - then the Victoria & Albert Museum should be high on your hit list. Named after Britain's famous royals, the V&A is often heralded as the greatest museum of applied art and design in the world. On show are thousands of British paintings, architectural drawings, the national collection of glass and many famous items of furniture, clothing and accessories. As well as charting Britain's history through art and design, its diverse collections include over 3000 years' worth of astounding artefacts from some of the world's most rich cultures.
Why should I go there?
When else do you get to see such a spectacular array of fashion, furniture, ceramics, glass, jewellery, metalwork, photographs, sculpture, textiles and paintings across history - for free?! hotpants), and the Golden Age of Couture, starting with the launch of Christian Dior's New Look in 1947.
But it's not just about fashion and it's not just for girls - other highlights include the biggest collection of Italian Renaissance sculpture outside Italy, the national collection of Constable's paintings, the Cast Courts and examples of historic and modern chair design.
