At the heart of one of London’s most well-known Bangladeshi communities in the East End, you don’t necessarily expect to find Jewish delicacies - curries are more typical. Yet the Brick Lane Beigel Bake is testament to the area’s Jewish history, and serves some of the best bready delights in the city; its salt beef Beigel is well-renowned. Packed full of beef and dripping with mustard, it can be a bit difficult to eat – but cramming it all into your mouth is all part of the fun. You can get sandwiches with almost every imaginable filling as well as cakes and pastries, and there are generallyl ong but fast moving queues – always an indication of a good sarnie... Better still this venue is open 24 hours a day, and it's not unusual to see the post-club crowd clamouring to get a tasty snack.
