High quality sushi prepared with succulent organic fish and fresh vegatables.

Situated in the Japan Centre, this delicatessen offers some of the cheapest and best quality Japanese food in London – it’s no wonder the place is frequented by people you’d expect to see at a Tokyo counter. You can get a good selection of sushi for a couple of quid (£2.00 English speak, for those that don’t know) or splash out for a bit more variety.

Price examples (January 2008)

1 pc Tako (Octopus) Nigiri Sushi: 50p
1 pc Akami (Tuna) Nigiri Sushi: 70p
6 pcs Kappa Hosomaki (Cucumber Rolls): £1.00
6 pcs Crabstick Californication £2.60
Miso Soup 125ml/cup: £1.00
8 pc Medium Fried Chicken Rolls: £2.00
8 pc Vegetable Tampura Rolls: £2.00

A pair of chopsticks and a sachet of soy sauce is provided free with every £2.00 spent, and you can buy extras like ginger (20p for a small pack) and wasabi (20p).

If you want a dining in experience, Yoshino has a restaurant up the road at 3 Piccadilly Place, but it’ll obviously set you back a bit more - see the website below for details.

Where is the delicatessen?

It's Japan Centre Basement, 212-213 Piccadilly, London, W1J 9HX. The nearest tube is Piccadilly Circus. Walk into the Japan Centre and go down the stairs towards the back.
