Both the sites we’ve highlighted have good facilities, including shops where you can stock up on essentials – whether you’re after bread and milk or travel cards and maps for site seeing. If you want a break from the hectic city pace, you can visit nearby Epping Forest, historic Waltham Abbey and the 1,000 acre River Lee Country Park. You can even play golf or go to the cinema, without straying very far!

’t have pals to stay with in London, camping is the cheapest option aside from sleeping rough – park bench anyone?! Where is the site?

From Lee Valley Camping & Caravan Park in Edmonton, you first take a quick bus ride to Edmonton Green, then get the overland to Seven Sisters tube station. From there, the Victoria line will take you to central London – the full journey time is approximately 40 minutes.

From Lee Valley Campsite in Sewardstone, a regular bus service goes to Walthamstow Central tube station - a frequent service then takes you right into central London. The Lee Valley website below provides a helpful journey planner.
